About Us
Rotau is a family business from Graubünden. What began as an idea became a small company – grown with a lot of work, patience and love.
Today it is our heart and soul.
How it all began
Rotau began with a simple idea — to create something truly beautiful and thoughtful. Back then, «handmade» mostly meant one thing: rustic, rough and at best functional. We wanted products that are natural and safe — and still beautiful. So we started making them ourselves.
Over time, our own skin and hair problems led us deeper into the science behind every formula. That's when we realised: most care products are designed for the feeling of care — not for their effect. And from that point our focus became sharper.
So we built a lab. We formulated, reformulated, tested, started over — and kept going until the products did what we really needed.
Rotau today
Rotau today is an independent Swiss lab - with a growing range and formulas developed in house.
We produce in small batches: liquid care for face and body, solid shampoos and conditioner bars, ubtans and handmade soaps - all formulated and made in Graubünden. We also develop formulas and complete care lines for other brands - from concept to finished product.
Every ingredient has a task. Every formula has a reason.

We believe you should know what you use and why — not simply follow trends, labels or marketing promises. Our goal is to develop products that are honest in their composition, effective in their function and thoughtful in their form.
For us, transparency is not an addition — it is part of the product itself. We explain what we use, why we use it and how it works — so skincare becomes something understandable and simple.
What began as an idea has grown over the years — through many formulas and honest mistakes. Rotau is not just what we do. It is how we think. And we're glad you are part of this story.
One team, one heart
Behind Rotau are the two of us – Rimma and Oleg.
The name ROTAU is personal and meaningful: «RO» stands for Rimma and Oleg, while «TAU» means «mountain» in Tatar. Together it stands for Rimma and Oleg in the mountains of Graubünden.
Rimma develops every formula — testing and refining it until it does exactly what it should. Oleg brings medical knowledge and the precision that keeps our standards honest — questioning every assumption, including our own.
